Why make the rest of the changes though, isn't it just:

        if (PageHighMem(page))
                return;

Becomes:

        if (attrs & ATTR_MMIO))
                return;

        page = phys_to_page(phys);
        if (PageHighMem(page))
                 return;

Leave the rest as is?
