Hello all,

      My machine has 512 MB of memory of which 32 MB is used for video and 64 by XEN. Therefore, I have domain0 booting off approx. 415 MB (mentioned in /boot/menu/menu.lst)

free reports 415 MB total memory.

#xm balloon 0 128

#/etc/init.d/xendomains start

#xm list

Domain-0 -> 128 MB

Domain-1 -> 128 MB

Domain-2 -> 128MB

free still reports 415 MB total memory.

Which is all good.

Now, when I did a xm balloon 0 256 (out of bound:  415 minus mem for domain1 minus mem for domain 2 is ~140) the machine locked.. Without giving any error message. I would have expected an out of range error.

I am running 2.6.8-14.24-xen kernel.

Thanks for any explanations in advance.
