Rpmstrap _could_ run on Debian, theoretically. It's distributed as tar
archive.

I created Debian Packages some time ago, they are available at
http://faiwiki.informatik.uni-koeln.de/download/fai-multi-distribution/debian/experimental/

I think there was a newer release these days, and I'll update the
packages in a while. Also sent patches which include the debian-package
stuff in the upstream itself.

But they still have some problems - I am trying to use it for the
addition of multiple distroibution features to an an automatic
installation system (FAI) for Debian.

I want to invest some more time into further research to get it going
cleanly on Debian, ideas and comments would be helpful.

BTW, an Debian, FAI can also be used to install XEN VM's automatically,
some of the FAI developers use it successfully (some 2.x versions).
