RE: [Xen-users] network setup for domU

Hi,

I seem to remember having seen this problem of " Error: Device 0 (vif)
could not be connected. Hotplug scripts not working."

It had something to do with the base Linux installation missing some
packages (hot plug). As I was not sure which package the hotplug was in,
I ended up installing most packages.

As for the mac addresses being 0 that should not be a problem, I think.
Her eis what I have in my mac and the vif shows

'mac=aa:00:00:00:00:11, bridge=xenbr0'

vif3.0    Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr FE:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF
          inet6 addr: fe80::fcff:ffff:feff:ffff/64 Scope:Link

Hope this helps
- Padma

Subject: [Xen-users] network setup for domU

Hi

  I've got to the point where I have dom0 (I hope I'm using the right
terminology) setup and running. When I try to setup a domU with "xm
create ..." I get the following error:
"Error: Device 0 (vif) could not be connected. Hotplug scripts not
working."
I'm trying to figure out where the problem is, but I'm getting lost in
Xen's network setup scripts, I did notice the following (I don't know if

indicates a problem): The bridge interface mac address is all zeros. The

mac address for all 'veth' interfaces (there are 8) are also all zeros
and the mac address for all vif interfaces (there are 8 as well) are F.

TIA
Paolo
