Re: [Xen-users] Trouble trying to use vmware within XEN Dom0

Actually, it certainly used to run. There used to be a few hacks in Xen
specifically to make development running on VMware easier...

IIRC, VMware wants to do things it just *can't* do in a Xen dom0, whereas dom0
and Xen do (mostly) valid things from the PoV of VMware.

The only thing I can think of that stops Xen running in VMware is lack of
local apic support in VMware's emulation, and the occasional VMware bug that
folks would run across.

But, as you say, it's not going to be top of VMware's list to make this
work ;-) Although QEmu actually use the Xen DemoCD as a regression test,
presumably because it exercises the hardware in fairly strange ways :-)

Cheers,
Mark

Dave: Just a question. What use is a unicyle with no seat? And no pedals!
Mark: To answer a question with a question: What use is a skateboard?
Dave: Skateboards have wheels.
Mark: My wheel has a wheel!
