Note that changing the option root-path in the DHCP:
   option root-path "/data/fai/nfsroot/live/filesystem.dir";
   #option root-path "/data/fai/nfsroot";

and adding /data/fai/nfsroot/live/filesystem.dir as in the /etc/exports
solved the looping... 

but got me with another error msg:
/usr/lib/fai/prcopyleft: line 16: cannot create temp file for here document:
Read-only file system
tee: /var/log/fai/current/fai.log: No such file or directory

Getting closer....
