Hi Folks,

Can anybody advise me which if any 3D (GLX) graphics card works well in 3D mode under a Xen dom0 kernel?  My current hardware [Nvidia GEForce 7300LE] requires an Nvidia-supplied driver for GLX that appears to be incompatible with a xen-compatible linux kernel (at least 2.6.18-xen built from the xen-3.1.0 source tarball).

My requirements are:
  - Must be 3D/GLX compatible so I can run Google Earth in my Dom0.  (I've given up trying to run it in a DomU.
  - Preferable should have drivers that just work with no tweaking under 2.6.18-xen.  Or a newer kernel, I don't mind upgrading.
  - If that's not possible, next best would be one where any required tweaking/patching/building is well understood/documented, so I'd not be a test-pilot.  I'm looking for a tried and tested combination, not something I have to invest a lot of research time into.

When I try the Nvidia supplied linux GLX drivers with my current card, they won't install.  During install, they ask for a path to the kernel source.  I point them to the source tree where I built 2.6.18-xen, and they complain that they don't recognise the kernel version, so won't install.

I'm willing to replace my graphics card if there's another alternative that's known to work well in GLX with a Xen Dom0 kernel.

I have an nVidia GeForce 7300 LE rev 01 running Debian Etch in Dom0 and Google Earth running on Debian in parallel to Windows XP Pro.

I just followed the instructions in http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/493 and it worked
(that patch provided there didn't apply cleanly but the manual fix is obvious).

Cheers,
