My cfg file for sles guest is:

kernel = "/boot/vmlinuz-"
ramdisk = "/boot/initrd-"
bootloader = "/usr/bin/pygrub"
You need either :
- kernel and (optionally) a ramdisk line, OR
- bootloader line
on domU's config file. Your cfg file has both, and (from the error log)
pygrub is active.

Thanks Fajar, but the problem was grub setup during installation ..
Grub needs to be changed to "install on boot partition" ....

Wow. That's new. I didn't expect that. RHEL PV install seems to work
just fine using default options. Thanks for the info.

I'd still recommend you remove kernel and ramdisk from cfg file though,
seeing as they're not used anyway.

\It's also apparently not true. The grub installation for RHEL 5 DomU's seems to operate quite happily on the /boot partition or on a / partition itself.

Many of us do put the MBR on the start of the first partiton as a default, but it's not strictly required.

Niko, my problem was with sles domU grub setup , not with rhel5 grub setup.
