Hi Lee,
Sda is supported in hvm. Most of my hvm machines (mainly debian) use sda virtual disks. Also, I've an opensuse 10.something hvm machine somewhere and I fought with a bug that freeze the install program when you install it into a hvm.
I had to install opensuse on a real server, then make an archive of the disk and put in onto the hvm sda disk and then it works.
Hope it helps. JM.

leeslist@xxxxxxxxx>:I want to install a slightly custom version of suse
9.3 into a vm a couple of hangups:
1) i can't change the kernel (so going for hvm) 2) the install in automatic and needs a "sda" to carry on
I have read that sda is not supported yet for hvm...is this still
true? any work-arounds or advice would be greatly appreciated?
thanks a lot! lee
