Hi Lee,

I've found some trace of the problem I had. It was early than yours, before the partitionning, in fact it was due to the pre-boot screen which was wrongly managed by xen. The install into a paravitualized machine is known to work but you will have to install a xenified kernel and change it to a standard kernel when switching to hvm. That's why I prefered to install it on a real server instead of a pvm.

Also Suse 9.3 is a bit old so I can't ensure that it will fit you needs but you'll perhaps find some informations here : http://en.opensuse.org/Xen

Regards.
JM.

Thanks alot for the info! I will try the archive route to see if
things will work, my install stops during the partitioning...is that
where yours had issue? I would like to verify that it runs at all, but
in reality, I need it to perform the install to get the ideal use out
of it...is it possible to install into paravirt. and then change to
hvm...I am new to the xen style (we currently use vmware), so don't
know if that makes sense

thanks a lot for taking the time to write!

lee
