Acutally I had downloaded this archive:
http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/4.0_r4a/amd64/iso-cd/debian-40r4a-amd64-netinst.iso

That's why I was a bit puzzled.

I will try to install a VM with this method and see how it turns out.
