Re: [Xen-users] No reaction after starting Guest WinXP

If you get a message that VNC=1, try port 5901.  You can try "vncviewer localhost:1" and see if that connects you to the console.

Hi:

This is the 1st time i setup XP on Xen (through .iso). But there's nothing happen on my Xen after executing "xm create winXP.cfg".

I've installed Xen on UBuntu 7.10 by using "apt-get install ubuntu-xen-server". After rebooting into the Xen 3.1 entry, i created a winXP as the follows:
===============================
kernel='/usr/lib/xen/boot/hvmloader'
builder='hvm'
memory='512'
device_model='/usr/lib/xen/bin/qemu-dm'

disk=['file:/home/xen/disk.img,ioemu:hda,w','file:/home/source/iso/winXP.iso,ioemu:hdc:cdrom,r']
name='winXP'
vif=['type=ioemu,bridge=xenbr0']

boot='d'
vnc=1
vncviewer=1
sdl=0
===============================
However, after "xm create winXP", nothing happend. The terminal only showed:
=====
VNC=1
Started domain winXP
=====
When i executed "xm list", there do exist:"winXP", but its time is always zero and its state is always empty not like Domain-0 that has a 'r' state. And there's no 5900 port since i can see nothing on VNCViewer localhost:5900.

So can anyone here help me on how to make the XP Blue Setup Screen appear?
Thanks!

BTW: my Intel processor support VT
