First thing I would suspect is SELinux.

I use Xen 3.3 with SELinux in enforcing mode without problem. You could check /var/log/audit/audit.log but I really don't think that's the problem.

Actually let me rephrase that. It SHOULDN'T be a problem because I'm running it with SELinux and it isn't. I'm not using the i386 rpms though. I'm using the x86_64 rpms from gitco so I'd assume they're the same.
