Hello, I'm running Xen 3.2.1-rc1 - the version of Xen which comes with Ubuntu 8.04 I have a WindowsXP domU running fine using HVM (config below). However I cannot seem to get to to access the CD/DVD drive. My CD/DVD drive is /dev/scd0 My domU config line is: disk = [ 'phy:/dev/loop17,ioemu:hda,w', 'phy:/dev/scd0,xvdc:cdrom,r' ,] But windows does not detect the CDROM. I've tried xm block-attach ing this device but no difference. xm block-attach 3 phy:/dev/scd0 /dev/xvda2 r Can anyone tell me what the correct device naming should be for a HVM windows install running under Xen 3.2.1 ? I do not care for the CD/DVD in Ubuntu - I just want to dedicate it to the Windows VM, Cheers, Paul host : ubuntu1 release : 2.6.24-24-xen version : #1 SMP Wed Apr 15 17:05:38 UTC 2009 machine : x86_64 nr_cpus : 2 nr_nodes : 1 cores_per_socket : 2 threads_per_core : 1 cpu_mhz : 2327 hw_caps : bfebfbff:20100800:00000000:00000140:0000e3fd:00000000:00000001 total_memory : 3965 free_memory : 5 max_free_memory : 2944 max_para_memory : 2940 max_hvm_memory : 2925 node_to_cpu : node0:0-1 xen_major : 3 xen_minor : 2 xen_extra : .1-rc1-pre xen_caps : xen-3.0-x86_64 xen-3.0-x86_32p hvm-3.0-x86_32 hvm-3.0-x86_32p hvm-3.0-x86_64 xen_scheduler : credit xen_pagesize : 4096 platform_params : virt_start=0xffff800000000000 xen_changeset : unavailable cc_compiler : gcc version 4.2.4 (Ubuntu 4.2.4-1ubuntu4) cc_compile_by : buildd cc_compile_domain : buildd cc_compile_date : Sat Feb 21 03:01:02 UTC 2009 xend_config_format : 4 -- Paul Reilly Systems Group IS Services Trinity College Dublin e: paul.reilly@xxxxxx p: +353-1-896-2152 _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
