if you're using 32bit PAE dom0, then enabling CONFIG_HIGHPTE will cause kernel
crashes.. there's a race in xet_set_pte() (iirc). There's a hacky fix/patch,
but not proper patch yet. Jeremy is working on it.

64b dom0 should work without that problem.

Other than that the basic stuff should work now.. I'm using 32b PAE dom0
myself, and when I have CONFIG_HIGHPTE=n I'm able to run PV guests OK, 
install new guests using virt-install and/or virt-manager etc.
