Re: [Xen-users] Netware

Just one caveat though, there isn't any PCI pass-through support.

I have a paravirtualised Netware 6.5 SP8 (a.k.a OES2 SP1) server running on a SLES10 Dom0 and it works great.

Brent

Is it possible to virtualise netware? I tried running an ISO for 6.5 but the DomU shuts down immediately.

Oops - sent this directly to Ian initially, copying to the list (sorry, Ian)

You'll want OES with the NetWare kernel - specifically OES 2. This contains a para-virtualised NetWare kernel for Xen. Obviously, it is expected that this instance of NetWare would be hosted on SLES 10 running Xen, so your supportability under another distribution (even openSUSE) would be 'not great'. I *think* it might be HVM capable too ...

OES can be downloaded here:

Basically, OES 2 SP2, is NetWare 6.5 SP8.

Hope that helps,
Jon
