Hi,

The problem was resolved. I deleted the vm01 domain using virt-manager and then again created the domain using virt-install. This time it worked perfectly.

read "xm log" output, maybe you have more information there..

It sounds like the installer/installation failed, so then you
can't do "xm create".. since there's nothing in the disk image.
