Hi all.

Can you explain to me what is the device 'VIF2' ?
I can not find any info about it on Xen web site.

Thanks.

Hello, VIF is virtual interface (virtual network card of virtual
machine). You can find out more here for example -
http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/XenNetworking (although it might be
not completely up to date, it should give you the general meaning).

"vif2" in your xmdomain.cfg refers to netchannel2. It is mentioned on xen-devel several times. I tried netchannel2 support myself and i consider netchannel2 as unstable at the very moment. Also it is not documented at the moment. I don't know if someone tried to use it lately.

My experience of netchannel2-Device is, the very moment, traffic traverses the device, i get a kernel panic and a complete freeze for my complete host. Did anyone experience netchannel2 and xen 4.0?

Sincerly
Nicolas
