Hello,

I am having trouble booting the latest 2.6.18-xen kernel as a guest (domU).  My dom0 kernel is 2.6.32.18.

I believe the problem is related to udev (although I am certainly not an expert on udev).  During bootup of the guest, udev prints out "error getting signalfd."  Some other errors follow, and ultimately the boot fails.

Some googling leads me to think that there might be some problem with the udev version I have (145) and the 2.6.18-xen kernel.

A few questions:

1. Has anyone seen this problem before?
2. Does anyone have a configuration similar to 2.6.32.18(dom0), 2.6.18-xen(domU) working?  If so, which version of udev is running?  Would you mind sharing your .config file and a sample /etc/xen/*.cfg file?
3. Is there a way to change which version of udev runs (i.e., can I download an older version and use that instead)?

Thanks,
Jon
