Hi Flavio. I want to try a couple of more things.

1) ssh into your 2.6.37 domu. (Or, if your vncviewer allows you to send the 
key combo ctrl-alt-f2, you can do that, but more than likely the host os that 
vncviewer is running on will trap it first.) You want a non windowed shell 
prompt, because we are going to bring down the X-server and desktop. Now do 
(as root):

rcxdm stop
(check with 'ps a -H' to make sure that all instances of kdm/gdm and their 
child processes (the indented ones under kdm or gdm in the 'ps' listing) are 
killed)
rmmod cirrusfb
modprobe cirrusfb
rcxdm start
(log out of your shell window)

If this doesn't help, there is one more thing I haven't looked at yet. Post 
the contents of 'gunzip -c /boot/initrd-2.6.37.1-1.2-desktop|cpio -tv', and 
then 'more `ls /etc/udev/rules.d/*|grep -v sane` /etc/modprobe.d/*'. Thanx.
