I am a consultant needing to learn virtual machines. Using XEN Server 6 as tool. I will put real internet servers on it when stable. Been working fine till it crashed out of the blue. This problem is from a full wipe and reload. Problem: 1. Build XEN Server 6. Works fine after install reboot.2. Reboot XEN Server. Big message "The underlying Xen xapi is not running" "Try restart F8" 3. F8 does not restart xapi 4. Some log entries below. Where do I find 'xapi_startup' What causes it to go away. I assume it was there after the initial install. Thank you for the help!! ** paste **Nov 29 18:10:37 xenserver-nordlund xsconsole: Displaying 'xapi is not running' dialogue-bash: Nov: command not found [root@xenserver-nordlund log]# Nov 29 18:02:53 xenserver-nordlund fe: 8650 (/opt/xensource/bin/xapi -nowatchdog -writereadyfile /var/run/xapi_startup.coo...) exitted with code 2 -bash: syntax error near unexpected token `('[root@xenserver-nordlund log]# Nov 29 18:02:54 xenserver-nordlund fe: 8698 (/opt/xensource/bin/xapi -nowatchdog -writereadyfile /var/run/xapi_startup.coo...) exitted with code 2 -bash: syntax error near unexpected token `('[root@xenserver-nordlund log]# Nov 29 18:03:22 xenserver-nordlund python: PERFMON: caught socket.error: (111 Connection refused) - restarting XAPI session -bash: syntax error near unexpected token `('[root@xenserver-nordlund log]# Nov 29 18:04:17 xenserver-nordlund xsconsole: User authenticated successfully -bash: Nov: command not found[root@xenserver-nordlund log]# Nov 29 18:04:17 xenserver-nordlund xsconsole: Local shell No xapi_startup.* in /var/run/ !! ** end paste ** -- Dave Nordlund 785-766-2136 CELL DBA Nordlund Consultancy dave@xxxxxxxxxxxx 5222 Eisenhower Ter 785-842-6835 FAX Lawrence, KS 66049 _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
