Re: [Xen-users] XCP 1.6 - Enable iommu - How?

Hi!

I believe that the file you're looking for is: /boot/extlinux.conf

Let me know if your IOMMU works! I have a Radeon HD 7970 on my XCP 1.6 and my Windows VM just hangs (blue screen of death) when installing Catalyst...

BTW, I don't have enabled iommu=1 so, this can be my problem...

 My MOBO is a GA-990-FXA-UD7...

I have a newbie question about the remote display when using GPU passthrough: How it works?! Since VNC is ugly... And SPICE doesn't work with a real GPU... What is used to play "Quake 3" over the network?

Best!

Hi,

Newbie question…

I want to enable IOMMU in XCP 1.6.  I’ve done some searching and I’ve found numerous entries where you simply add ‘iommu=1’ as a kernel boot option.  However I can’t seem to find out how to do that with XCP 1.6 given grub is not installed.

[root@vmhost /]# dmesg | grep -i 'command'

[    0.000000] Kernel command line: root=LABEL=root-ktayzycm ro xencons=hvc console=hvc0 console=tty0 quiet vga=785 splash

So how do I add ‘iommu=1’ to the Kernel command line in XCP 1.6?

Thanks

Micah
