Which version / changeset? No modern version of Xen builds a kernel

ia64 == Itanium, support for which was dropped from Xen from the 4.2
release onwards. Are you sure you mean ia64 and not amd64 AKA x86_64 AKA
ia32e (the 64 bit extensions for the normal PC type processors, which
are sometimes confused for ia64)?
