Re: [Xen-users] poor IO performance with dom0 on centos7

Can you use fio/iperf (or similar tools) to pin down the issue? Without
knowing which component is causing the performance degradation there's
no way we can provide a solution.

I would recommend to measure network throughput between VMs (satan and
levaithan), between VMs and Dom0 and finally between VMs and another
host on the same network.

Roger.

ok here the results:

centos 7 dom0 -> centos 7 bare metal
0.0-10.0 sec   952 MBytes   798 Mbits/sec

centos6 domU -> centos 7 bare metal
0.0-10.0 sec   950 MBytes   797 Mbits/sec

centos7 domU -> centos 7 bare metal
0.0-10.0 sec   958 MBytes   804 Mbits/sec

centos 7 dom0 -> centos 6 domU
0.0-10.0 sec  18.1 GBytes  15.5 Gbits/sec

centos 7 domU -> centos 6 domU
0.0-10.0 sec  10.6 GBytes  9.12 Gbits/sec

WTF? thats enough... but why do I see lagging? I mean if I make a tcpdump for my downloads, the I see ever some traffic (2-5s) really fast, then some time nothing then again a lot of pkgs (2-5sec) then delay again etc etc
