Yes I have LXDE installed. I think the video card drivers are causing
problems since the upgrade :

root@:~# lshw -c display
  *-display NON-RÉCLAMÉ
       description: VGA compatible controller
       produit: G200eR2
       fabriquant: Matrox Electronics Systems Ltd.
       identifiant matériel: 0
       information bus: pci@0000:04:00.0
       version: 00
       bits: 32 bits
       horloge: 33MHz
       fonctionnalités: pm vga_controller bus_master cap_list
       configuration: latency=0 maxlatency=32 mingnt=16
       ressources: mémoire:c0000000-c0ffffff mémoire:c1800000-c1803fff
mémoire:c1000000-c17fffff

I've also noticed that the package "linux-firmware-nonfree" has been removed
while upgrading and is not available anymore in Ubuntu 16.04. I've tried to
manually install the .deb from the older version without success. At the
moment I've disabled lxde but I don't really know what to do with it. The
drivers provided by Matrox seem to be really old and not compatible with
newer distributions.

What I also do not understand is why would lxde work normally with Ubuntu
but not with Xen on top ?
