Made a couple of trips to the colo. In all the trials and testing we got the
serial
lines swapped. Fixed that. Did some bios tweaks (turn off flow-control and set
serial redirect to always). Part of the issue was that I'd forgotten that the OS
had been reloaded and my inittab/getty setting were gone.

In any case, all the wiring is back in place and the systems are responding
(sorta)
to serial I/O. The caveat is that it is painful (at least was for me) to get
into
the BIOS from the serial line. It uses the F4 key instead of the Del key used
from
the console and it seems to ignore it a lot. It does acknowledge the "ESC to
boot"
key-in. I did get into the BIOS once via the serial line.

Next thought is to change the terminal type to vt220 if it's an option.

In the meantime, I've got my oseleta testing script working with the serial
line.
