Of course, there are other executables showing problems.
An easy one is /sbin/initlog.

When run the way the initscripts run it, it segfaults,
gdb gives the following (infinite?) backtrace, consisting
of these:

#8697 0x0091fecf in syslog () from /lib/tls/libc.so.6
#8698 0x00920546 in vsyslog () from /lib/tls/libc.so.6

#8700 0x00920546 in vsyslog () from /lib/tls/libc.so.6

Here are the last lines strace give me:
