Xen 3.0 startup hangs on mptbase error: "mptbase: Initiating ioc0 recovery"

It seams there's problem when booting from a fc attached storage system.
Here the interesting enty in /etc/sysconfig/kernel:

INITRD_MODULES="ata_piix mptspi qla2300 processor thermal fan reiserfs"

Without mptspi the qla2300 driver doesn't find any devices. Is mptspi needed
for qla2300 or is the qla2300 problem an other problem? However, without Xen
both drivers will work fine:

Fusion MPT base driver 3.03.02
