Hi,

it seems that the change did work partially. But the frequency can not
be changed.

The kernel freezes when udev is loading the alsa modules and/or the
nvidia module. After that the machine may reboot automatically.

Here some infos I found in my /var/log/messages file:

So it seems that the nvidia driver has some problems with this code
modification??
