Older Xorg versions are not, evdev supports mice only in early versions. And even with the latest Xorg you need a dummy keyboard input section to make the X-Server happy. That may change in the future with a decent evdev driver being available in Xorg now, but we are clearly not yet at the point yet where the unified device works without trouble.
