Here it looks like GRUB is claiming you have 4MB of RAM, which obviously
isn't right.

You mean this bit about 3072K ?

grub> displaymem
EISA Memory BIOS Interface is present
Address Map BIOS Interface is present
Lower memory: 640K, Upper memory (to first chipset hole): 3072K

I'll try updating grub. I am using debian grub 0.9.7-23   but there is
a more recent
version available.
