The background to this issue was discussion on a thread entitled "DomU 
suspension/hibernation" on the user's list, towards the latter end of the 
thread. The principal behind the patch was discussed by Ian C at 19 Jun 2013 
10:51 and afterwards.  Hope that gives a little context.
