You can save the actual virtual machine by:
xm save <domid> <file>
To make it a complete set of data, you also need a copy of all the
disk(s) that the domain uses (such as the OS image file and any swap
partition that it may use). Of course, this can be done using
"incremental backup" type systems, so not all the content has to be
copied each time.
