When you did mkinitrd, did you make sure to include the LVM utils and modules?  I think mkinitrd has a switch for making sure that LVM is included.  Also, does initrd include the storage drivers for your storage controller?

I compiled Xen on my Fedora 9 box. Everything was fine. At last when I tried to boot the kernel, it gave some error. I found that I had to make an initrd. So I made it. After doing that, the kernel boots upto some stage then says cannot mount /dev/root; while in the kernel option i have given root=/dev/system/root which is a valid LVM on my system. Please help.
