Hi ,

I just try with the "extra" with console=hvc0 but same thing .
Not access with ssh and not login  with xm console.

Thanks for your help , it's very important for me to take the control of my server before thursday.

Hi,

Try setting console=hvc0 to the kernel line of either your GRUB menu.lst if you are using pv-grub or pygrub. Or the "extra" line in the Xen domU cfg if you are using a shared kernel.

Kind regards.
Joseph.

Hi ,
We have migrate Xen 3 to Xen 4 , the domU is a debian squeeze with kernel 2.6.32-5-xen-686

Since we migrate we have not access to the consol (ssh , connection refused ) and xm consol hangs with message show after , and that with 3 of 8 guests.
The problem seem to be with old debian guest (like woody )

#xm console "guest"

done.
Setting up IP spoofing protection: rp_filter.
Configuring network interfaces...SIOCADDRT: File exists
Failed to bring up eth0.
done.
Starting portmap daemon: portmap.
portmap: fork: Success
Setting the System Clock using the Hardware Clock as reference...
System Clock set. Local time: Tue May  3 00:04:29 CEST 2011

Running ntpdate to synchronize clock.
Recovering nvi editor sessions... done.
Setting up X server socket directory /tmp/.X11-unix...done.
Setting up ICE socket directory /tmp/.ICE-unix...done.

and nothing after no login

someone did have the problem ? i try a lot of things ( change the inittab ) or modify the guest.cfg with for exemple :
extra='xencons=tty console=tty1 ,  but no success.
Thanks for your help

Cordialement ,
franck S
