also, btrfs is _not_ a cluster filesystem, so i would be very
(pleasantly) surprised if you could mount a snapshot on a different
machine from the one that 'owns' the main filesystem.

so, it would only facilitate 'from inside' backups, no advantage for
'from outside' access.
