Hi,

Hello John,

I’m a newer user of Xen on ARM working with the Xilinx MPSOC platform.
We want to restrict Xens available memory and the Xen command line
seems to be easy answer.

We see the command line show mem=1G from “xl info”, but the
total_memory does not reflect what we set mem= to.

Does this still work on ARM with device tree and we’re doing something
wrong?

The 'mem' option has not been implemented on ARM for moment. I think it was
assumed that the user could modify the device tree to limit the memory.

Thanks Julien, we appreciate your help and all the work you guys do.

It would be really helpful if the user documentation reflected the
implementation for ARM rather than the more general case where it's x86. Xen on
ARM has a lot of potential and we want to see our customers successful with it.

I realize we can browse the source ourselves also and I'm starting to do that
more, but it's not always obvious and our customers don't always want to do
that. I also realize we can submit patches to help the documentation :)

We are trying to improve the documentation in general. Any patches and comments will be very welcomed in this area :).

Regards,
