Yes, good question. Where is the device tree coming from? I would use
the one from the kernel branch you selected.

I don't recall seeing this error. However, I do remember that the kernel
support is a bit flaky, meaning that you really need to make sure to use
the kernel config provided
(http://xenbits.xen.org/people/sstabellini/config-hikey) and the device
tree from the kernel tree.
