Both of the issues raised in this thread were reported and tracked at <https://github.com/mirage/ocaml-dns/issues/67> <https://github.com/mirage/ocaml-dns/issues/69> Luke Dunstan and I submitted patches to address them. Luke also wrote some nice tests. Subsequently, dns.0.15.0 was released this afternoon which includes both of these fixes (and a revised Name module interface). Happy hacking!
