Adding requirements to the guest's use of the vtimer to make our lives earlier certainly seems to make sense, but it would be best if this were backed up by some standard from ARM or someone so that guests do it consistently. I was mostly objecting to the proposed patch which seemed to be choosing the worst of both options above...
