To answer myself. Linux 3.0 works fine with XEN 4.0.1. I compiled the kernel again and it now boots. The only difference to older kernel versions is, that the screen turns blank when the hypervisor boots the kernel. Don't know why. That's why I thought, the kernel does not boot.

On my system the boot process stops immediately when the hypervisor tries to boot the linux kernel. Would you like to test my kernel? It is a debian package and can be downloaded from http://www.motschke.de/debian/packages.
