That would be best.  You'd end up with packages for master but not
staging.  And you'd end up with ones for the stable branches too.

What's needed is an automated production recipe which I don't think we
have.  It would probably also need a push gate for the Debian
packaging from Debian, to stop our tests being gummed up if the Debian
packaging changes incompatibly, and a commitment to maintain whatever
local changes we have that make it all work.
